Why we need news?

I watched telly for a short time meanwhile I was a guest at my relative's house. There were just news. I realized again why I'm not watching telly. Why people need such a lots of bad news? Okay, I said bad news are more salable. But, why people have to know that hundreds of miles away there was a car crash and watching pieces of brain on the road. Who cares? You must be some sort of sadistic pervert psycho if you enjoying the Rocky Horror Picture Show every evening.
Do you realize that media is the biggest terrorist, delivering such news which suggesting people are bad and you are not safe anywhere anymore?
